iAdapt
iAdapt is a flexible framework for importing and exporting data to and from iVNT. iAdapt enables integration with one or more data sources (network equipment, network management systems, operational support systems, spreadsheets et al) using iAdapt Adapters. iAdapt simplifies integration and enables the user to determine the level of integration required.
iAdapt enables network equipment specific details, service definitions and templates, and rules and policies that are specific to the carrier’s network to be imported to and exported from iVNT. iAdapt also supports automatic planning scenario generation based on data imported from other systems.
iAdapt Adapters are developed as “plugins” to iVNT and can be developed and enhanced independently of iVNT, ensuring flexibility and an ability to quickly modify the Adapters as the customers' environment changes. iAdapt also supports a metadata driven environment to enhance flexibility.
iAdapt can be used by customers and partners to use the supported Adapters available from Aria, and to develop (by you or us) custom-built Adapters to enable integration with a specific environment.
The export function of iAdapt can be used to generate a wide variety of outputs, for example:
- A management report on capacity utilisation and consumption.
- Explicit Route Objects (EROs) to facility traffic engineering of LSPs.
- A Bill of Materials (BoM) of equipment that needs to be ordered at a point in time to enable predicted capacity demands to be met.
- A device (e.g. a router) “configlet” that can be used to re-configure network devices.
- An ordered list of network engineering instructions to facilitate a planned network change.
The currently available iAdapt Adapters from Aria include:
- XML Adapter
- Encrypted XML Adapter
- Comma Separated Values (CSV) Adapter
- Database Adapters
- JMS
