The Customer
The Problem
The customer is one of the top five providers of broadcast networks globally. Their global media network delivers TV shows and live events over a secure network.
The network is used by more than 600 broadcasters, sports and news channels across the world to deliver important state, sporting and awards events.
High speed, secure, low latency video delivery are key components of this providers premium network, and their customers rely on them to deliver consistently and reliably in these areas.
The customer are providers of high-reliability, complex broadcast channels, which they deliver both for themselves and also for other broadcast companies.
These service offerings are large Point to Multi-Point services, sold in disjoint groups. This means that at the physical layer of the network, there are strict requirements around geospatial proximity for the service groups. This is to ensure resiliency – in the event of a failure or disruption caused by physical impacts.
The nature of the broadcast business, with constant changes and redesigns, required a powerful and reliable service designing platform. A routing engine that would both ensure the service SLA commitments for separacy, but also for network capacity optimisation and load balancing. Ensuring a healthy network and fully aligned SLAs for all services.
The Solution
Value Delivered
Aria Networks products provide vital:
- Network assurance (no outage risks)
- P2MP service disjoint routing
- SRG identification for varying geospatial separacy
- Visualisation of planned networks for strategic growth and development projects
- Large customer deployment project planning
- Multi-vendor ERO generations and publications
Aria Networks developed a solution that enables the customer to consistently and reliably deliver on it’s commitments to customers.
1.A reliable broadcast network
Using Aria Networks’ products enables the customer to design and maintain a reliable network. Equally used for new network deployments and existing network maintenance, the ability to plan and optimise for multiple constraints, including disjointness (for resiliency) ensures that their network continuously performs well.
2.Customer service and retention
Customers are increasingly service-aware. In a saturated marketplace, they have endless choice, so poor performance or service from a provider will lead to churn.
3.Brand equity
The ability to provide great experiences of live events, which rely on low-latency delivery, ensures that perception of the customer’s brand remains high. Failure in this area, a football broadcast dropping out at a vital moment, would lead to headlines.
