Aria Networks, a leading independent provider of capacity management software, today announces that its iVNT capacity management solution integration with the Alcatel-Lucent 5620 Service Aware Manager (SAM) has been successfully certified through the Alcatel-Lucent OSS Connected Partner Program.

Certification by Alcatel-Lucent was awarded after comprehensive testing for compatibility and interoperability with 5620 SAM and affirms Aria Networks’ dedication to OSS integration quality as an Alcatel-Lucent ConnectedPlus partner. This recognition will provide access to multiple new markets for Aria Networks’ capacity management products while for Alcatel-Lucent, the integration complements its optical and IP convergence strategy with a multi-layer IP/MPLS planning solution able to simultaneously address both engineering and financial business objectives

The integration of the two systems allows Aria Networks to import network topology, IP/MPLS services and network utilization rates. This data will then be used as the basis for Aria Networks’ IP/MPLS operational planning solution, enabling service design, assurance optimization and efficient network growth planning. Certification proves the strength of Aria Networks’ IP/MPLS solution and that the software can support planning scenarios for analysing even the largest IP/MPLS networks – including Alcatel-Lucent’s popular 7750 Service Router portfolio including the recently introduced 7950 XRS  family of core routers. The status of being part of Alcatel-Lucent’s OSS Connected Partner Program provides Aria Networks an additional opportunity for global growth.

Tony Fallows, CEO Aria Networks, commented, “We are pleased to have received certification from Alcatel-Lucent. This is a great boost to the hard work by our whole team. Recognition by Alcatel-Lucent of the importance of our capacity management solutions will help us generate more business around the world and help our customers’ profitable deployment of new IP/MPLS based services. Aria Networks’ customers are typically gaining a return on investment and double digit CapEx and OpEx business performance improvements in as quickly as six to nine months which is exceptional.”

Sasa Nijemcevic, VP & GM of Alcatel-Lucent’s Network Management Business Unit commented, “Our aim is always to ensure that our customers are able to use the available network resources to their best advantage. Today’s IP/MPLS networks are complex and tomorrow’s combinations of technologies will be even more so. It is imperative that service providers have access to the best traffic engineering and capacity planning solutions.”

Recent changes in the marketplace for capacity management solutions, notably the consolidation of several suppliers to this sector, mean that Aria Networks’ independence in this field is more important than ever before.  Aria Networks has experienced substantial recognition over the past year as customers benefit from objective analysis of their needs, whatever their equipment vendor or network technology.
